As I was always saying: jQ is slow as hell, MooTools rocks!

    • But you should remember that this is only test of selectors not every other aspects of these frameworks.

But IMHO you’re right - MooTools Rocks!

    • jQuery is currently on v1.1.3.1 with significant speed enhancements. Just FYI.

    • Yep in this test moo rocks jQ. I prefer jQ tho, thanks to its simplicity

    • Hmm, still 3635 vs 162 = jQ sucks ass big times.

@PaweÅ‚ Kaczmarek, oh come on, cut me some slack here - MooTools’ not simple? With all due respect but how retarded you have to be not to find it super-easy to use.

    • @Oskar Krawczyk, You know, I just do find it simplier. Embed script, add one line and here you are. I did not say Moo isnt super-easy to use BUT that I prefer jQ. Both frameworks are awesome and competition makes them even better.

Lets get back to the results, take a quick look at these http://extjs.com/blog/2007/07/10/css-selectors-speed-myths/. Thats reason why it turnt out slower.

And again, It is yours and only yours decision which script will you use. Both are super-great BUT I prefer jQ. Amen.

    • Have you tested Mootools with the new super fast jQuery 1.1.4? I hear it is a lot faster than Mootools 1.2dev

  11. Oskar Krawczyk September 11th, 2007 at 07:27

    • No I haven’t… THEY said the old jQ was super-fast which obviously was slow like dog poo, so basically I have no reason to believe in the uber-fastness of jQ, my friend.

    • try implement drag&drop effect for many divs (for example 10). You will see that mootools is slow for firefox 3. i dont know how jquery is resolving this but extjs is much better….

    • Try disabling Firebug beforehand.
